North Sails at the Winnipeg Mid-Canada Boat Show

North U Sail Trim Seminar with Drew Mitchell from North Sails is coming to Winnipeg on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 10:00am – 4:00pm at the RBC Convention Centre.

The seminar takes place during the Mid-Canada Boat Show, which runs from March 1-4.

The $125 seminar fee includes a free pass for the Boat Show.  The pass is good for any day of the Show.  Student fee is $65.

ABOUT DREW….

Drew Mitchell grew up sailing at the Lunenburg Yacht Club in Nova Scotia. He has raced on and coached high performance one design for nearly 20 years. Drew races in the Melges 24, Farr 30, Bluenose and Martin 242 fleets and has won the Farr 30 North Americans and Melges 24 PNW championship. He came in 3rd at Martin 242 North Americans and was in the Top 3 in the Bluenose class for the last 4 years at Chester Race Week. Drew’s distance racing experience includes winning the Van Isle 360 and racing the 2017 Transpac on a TP 52.

In addition to sailing, Drew enjoys playing hockey, surfing and snowboarding.

LOWISA 52 Registration Now Open!

The Lake of the Woods International Sailing Association is pleased to announce that LOWISA 52 registration is now open! Please join us for another fabulous year of adventure and racing in Lake of the Woods.

Online registration is now available on our website at www.lowisa.org. Early registration ($250 CAD) will last through June 30, 2017, after which regular online registration ($325 CAD) will be available. Please register now to take advantage of the early price! On-site registration ($400 CAD) and package pick-up will take place at Northern Harbour on the afternoon of August 5th, 2017 (1:00 – 4:00 PM).

This year LOWISA will host the Discover Kenora Cup, a special registration option for a one-day race in Safety Bay. This will take place on the first day of LOWISA starting in Safety Bay and finishing near Keewatin Channel. Boats that register under this option ($40.00 CAD) will only be able to race on the first day of LOWISA and awards will be given for the overall winners of this race based on the day one’s results only. All boats registered for the full week of LOWISA are automatically entered into the Discover Kenora Cup and their finishes will count toward those results.

Houseboat Space!

Need some extra storage or sleeping space on LOWISA? The houseboat has got what you need! Bunks, storage, and camping space still available. Prices are as follows:

60 CAD per storage tote/cooler for the week
125 CAD securing a roof tent spot for the week
150 CAD for towing a Zodiac * for the week
500 CAD per single private bunk for the week 

Bunk prices are negotiable to a degree. To reserve an entire double bunk room please contact to work out pricing.

Renting tent and bunk space includes bathroom access!
